PART 2 UK

12 Jul Disembarked early from Black Watch at Liverpool. Picked up hire car, wandered around a bit and had brunch with uni friend I hadn't seen for about 50 years. Super long pole for cleaning windows. Went to Antrobus to stay with sister. Caught up with nephew and family at their lovely new house. 14 Jul We went to visit ancient aunt Imelda (my mother's sister) in Lancashire and she generously treated us to nice lunch in a sunny pub garden. 15 Jul Went to Warrington steam festival. There was a huge display of steam engines  fantastically restored. 16 Jul Visited old friend in Wirral and dropped in at Brimstage Hall for some souvenirs/craft. 17 Jul  Flew BA from Manchester to Heathrow. Paid my usual hommage to Isembard Kingdom Brunel, or Brunowl as he is depicted here at Paddington Station. I am grumpy as I am still getting over the 1 hour long security queue at Manchester. PART 3 DOLOMITES

24 Jul Getting to London City Airport was a bit slow especially last 1km. some people were getting out of taxis early and walking last bit. Check-in queues were very slow and some people missed flights as a result. My flight to Venice Marco Polo airport went smoothly and had enjoyable lunch at waiting for my transport to my chalet - Haus Valentin at Badia. This is leased our to Colletts who arrange guided walks each day except Wednesday. This suited me fine as I needed a rest day (tomorrow). 25 Jul Wednesday I made my way up the mountain by 2 chair lifts and found a nice restaurant. Ordered a ministrone soup with wurst. This turned out to be 2 frankfurters immersed in the soup. What a treat. One of the walking trails leading from top chairlift station. 26 Jul Marmelada viewed from distance.
